Lately little black ants have been gathering on my kitchen sink. And I couldn’t work out why. There wasn’t any crumbs, or spills, what the heck were they doing? Then I saw the water drops, ahhhh!

They’re just thirsty ants. Ha!

Here’s my latest project, film clip production and artwork for ‘Landslide’, a lovely song by my good friend Brianna Carpenter. The artwork is a new style for me, simple and basic, and so much fun to try and convey emotion and personality with fewer lines than I’m used to using.

VIDEO - WIG FROM MY OWN HAIR PRANK

Step 1: Cut off my long hair of three years
Step 2: hot glue it into a wig (yes, slightly serial killerish, but wait..)
Step 3: Wear that wig, my friends thinking it’s my hair
Step 4: Pull it off suddenly and presto, friend freakouts

(Disclaimer: I have no idea where this idea came from, the idea even freaked myself out, which is kinda why I had to do it. but DAMN it was fun!).

This is test footage shooting with my new fish eye. I wanted to try and film angles, shots and takes that can convey the floaty carving feeling you get from actually riding down this bridge.

Ben my lil bro stumbled on this bridge over the brisbane river, wondering just how good it would be for a roll on our pennies. It’s all downhill, wide enough for near horizontal carves and loooooong. I owe you bas, you little keen eye brother.

VIDEO - PREVIEW: WIG FROM MY OWN HAIR PRANK

I’ve been growing my hair for the past few years, and decided to go back to the comfortable summer cut of a shaved head. Then I realised that because none of my friends or family knew I was going to shave it, I might be able to have some fun with it.

Step 1: Cut my two year long hair off

My first full short shot on my new 600D. This was a test promo piece for the makers of Penny Skateboards in queensland, nice blokes and a super fun film to storyboard, shoot and edit. I learned SO much about the fun of post light leaks (and the discipline to NOT use them in EVERY shot) with this one!

(Adjust) - This is a vignette of a beach holiday with friends shot with my 600D. I wanted to practice focusing manually, with attention to lighting and use of two different lenses to shoot a variety of action. Trying to keep that kite in the frame was tricky but fun to do.

VIDEO - NEW SUPER MARIO BRO WII - EXTRA SILLY COIN BATTLE RULES

This video of Nick and I playing super mario battles will probably only be enjoyable to people who’ve played heaps of New Super Mario Bros Wii. My mate Nick and I would play this darn rad game till the week hours of the morning so many times, basically because we discovered how much fun a coin battles are, and then when you add your own gameplay rules, the fun just gets even better. If any of you like coin battles as much as us, have a go at the extra rules.

Of course the person with the most coins at the end technically is the winner, but the amount of fun we had with these rules just made it ridiculous.

Powerups are poison, if you catch one, you must kill yourself at the nearest opportunity (mushrooms in bubbles are the ONLY allowed powerups)

Wait for the bubble. When the other player has died and they return in a bubble, the second player has to STOP collecting coins and release the bubble player

Use shells constantly. like a mariokart powerup, use the shells like a weapon. Koopas then eventually become a walking box of ammunition.

THE MAIN RULE: Pov up your friend. Throwing into pits and enemies, shell pegging and dodging, head jumping. Pretty much make life as hard as possible for them, especially when you pull it off so well, can bring you such joy.

The clip is from a bunch of battles we had, and please ignore any possible high girl laughs we let fly.
